Yin Yoga is a meditative practice in which floor poses are held for longer periods of time. This practice gives us an opportunity to more effectively target specific areas in both our physical and energetic bodies: the chakras. Chakras are “wheels” of energy, aligned along the spine, that have a direct influence on our life, as they affect our behavior, feelings and emotions. By balancing the chakras we can find ourselves in a more harmonious state and ease of being.
Essential Oils have been used for their healing properties since the old times. They have potent attributes on physical, mental, emotional and spiritual levels. The different chemical components of the flowers, plants and trees that have been distilled into oils have a powerful effect on our brain. Scents can help us remember events from the past, and may assist in clearing negative thought forms. Using essential oils in our yoga practice can enhance the effects thereof, and deepen our experience significantly.
During this workshop we will look at the seven chakras, and how we can bring them back into balance with sound vibration, specific Yin Yoga poses, and essential oils.
